Pulsed Field Magnetometers apply a “pulse” of magnetic
field to generate the applied magnetic field. This has the
advantage
that the field can be strong enough to saturate any magnetic material.
The PFM21 machine is suitable for commercial production
environments with fields of up to 7.5 Tesla. It will take samples
of up
to 30mm diameter and 30 mm long at production rates of a few seconds.
The machine can be manually operated or integrated with
semi or fully automatic handling systems (which can be supplied by
Hirst). The finished magnets can leave the machine as fully saturated,
calibrated to a specific value or fully demagnetised magnets. An
automatic pass/fail or segregation system can also be supplied.
