Worlds largest commercial magnetiser 300kJ

A UK based company needed a magnetiser for magnets that weighed in at 1.4 Tonnes. The magnets were to be brough to the magnetiser by over head crain then fed through the fixture using a hydraulic winch. Once inside, the 300kJ capacitor bank would be used to charge or magnetise the magnet.  Hydrauic clamps held the magnet in place duing magnetising and a integrating flux meter would also check the magnetisation for quality control purposes.

The fixture utilised weighed in at over 11 Tonnes and represented a significant engineering achievement.

The magnetiser produced fully saturated magnets and improved the magnetic strength w.r.t the exisitng methods for producing the companies product as well as reducing time.
